Advanced Structural Blade Repair (SE-P-16800)

Purpose
The overall aim of the course is to enable the participant to expand their knowledge and skills to perform Advanced Blade structural repairs on WTG blades within SGRE area of responsibility according to work instructions and other relevant documentation.

Objectives
Upon completion of the course the participants are able to:

  • - Demonstrate execution of repairs according to relevant Work Instructions (WI) and Checklists (CH)
  • - Demonstrate safe and proper handling of grinding/sanding machines and the usage of the appropriate PPE according to relevant safety rules in the work instructions.
  • - Practice repair quality as specified in the work instructions.
  • - Discuss and argue why the repairs is of bad quality.
  • - Show how to use appropriate PPE according to relevant work instructions with respect to the material (filler, paint and resin etc.) being used.
  • - Demonstrate how to document (Photo card, Check lists, etc.) the repair work both before during and after repair work.
  • - Show how to work safely with epoxy, mixing 2-component material and handle it as specified in the relevant Safety Data Sheet (SDS).
  • - Demonstrate and perform quality control on own and others' fiberglass repair work with relevant technical explanation according to work instructions.
  • - Demonstrate correct sorting of waste.

Who should attend?
This course is intended to Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy's and approved subcontractor's employees whose duties include advanced repair and complicated blade structural damages on Blades within SGREs responsibility.

Prerequisites
Course prerequisite are:

  • - SE-P-16700 Structural Blade Repair course
  • - Annex 2: On the Job Training Criteria for Job Profile Progression (UP-9706 ) applicable from June 1st 2025
For TC DK:Personal Safety when working with Epoxy and Isocyanates in accordance with Executive Order No. 1793, issued by the Danish Working Authority (SE-P-20900 ).
  • - !!! Notice: the Epoxy and/or Polyester Safety (SE-P-16940) is not valid for attending the course in Denmark, please make sure you have the SE-P-20900 EPOXY Safety !!!

Notes
Re-certification must be achieved by completing Advanced Structural Blade Repair Refresher Written Test (SE-P-16820) within the 12 months and before expiry of the extant certificate .
